Today was the first day of school for my boys. :-)
Anthony is now in 6th grade
Sean is now in 5th grade
Riley is now in 1st grade
Wow I feel old & I'm not even 29 yet LOL
Reading some of my friends from the parent school statues, some have kids who started Jr High today (7th) Wow In a way I'm glad Anthony is past the deadline cuz I don't think I'm ready for him to be in Jr High. Yet I don't know if I'm ready for him to be 12 next month but it's gonna happen weather I'm ready or not.
I took pictures of them in their classrooms today, but I can't seem to upload them to here from my phone.. so look for them on Facebook.
They all seemed to enjoy & like their new classes. They were a little nervous & upset cuz I switched tracks on them, but fortunately each had at least 1 kid from their class last yr.
So what did me & Elizabeth do while they were at school??
Elizabeth did what she usually does.. walk/crawl around played with her little people & spent time with mommy. Oh & took some naps. She even feel asleep on my feet (pictures will be on FB)
Now what did I do.. well I finished cleaning up the mess on the stove & counter from when our kitchen ceiling fell (which I haven't wrote about so I will later in this post) It did take me pretty much the whole time they were gone.. I kept getting distracted by texting a few ppl but it's ok since I haven't talked to some of them in years.. then I spent time with Elizabeth. All around it was a good day. :-)
Now about my kitchen ceiling
Our AC has been leaking since the maintenance guys came & turned on the sprinklers (randy had already turned on the AC) I'm not 100% sure why it was leaking, but it was running down the roof to the gutters. Randy said it was the stopper.. I know when I took rent in I told them our AC is leaking. I always got "Ok we'll let the guys know" but they never did.
August 17 while making dinner I noticed the ceiling above the stove looked different, like it was sagging more then usually. Didn't Thank much of it & was gonna tell Randy when he got home, yet he didn't get home 'til after 10 so I totally forgot.
The morning of August 18, I had gone into the kitchen a few times to get me a drink then another time get Elizabeth a bottle. I didn't notice anything. Then about 9:30am Riley says "Hey mom there is a hole in the kitchen roof" I was thinking he was tricking me & I asked him if he was teasing me "No Mom I'm for real there is a hole in the kitchen roof" so I go out there.. sure enough.. not a hole but a crack. Took a picture sent it to Randy. I talked to him told him what was going on. Then called our landlord ppl. Well I left a message for the maintenance ppl cuz they are stupid.
Almost an hr later still haven't heard from the ppl & guess what? That part of the ceiling is now. FALLING OMG
So I called Randy freaking out not knowing what to do. It was coming down quickly. It seriously looked like the ceiling was only being held up because of the paint. I tried to move things out of the way but I was afraid it'd fall on me. Which I was glad I did cuz it fell exactly how I thought it would. After it fell I still had no clue what to do.. should I clean it up should I leave it for them. I called Randy told him it finally fell..
Eventually the maintenance guy showed up. He was told we only had a leak not a hole. So when he saw it.. yeah he had not so many nice words coming out of his mouth. So he got on the roof checked things out there. Then he came in & cleaned up everything.. well almost everything.. He then left to go get some plastic to cover the hole. Ha! He did a very good job (sorry don't know how to type it sarcasticly) With each outside door opens the plastic goes up then goes.down after it's shut which makes some insulation fall.. all the sides of the plastic was not sealed ok it was sagging especially over the sink.. so I fixed it.. Boy oh Boy the smell Ugh makes me sooo sick. I don't know how long it'll be before they come back to fix it but hopefully soon don't know how much longer I can handle it.
Anyways I believe that is everything if not oh well I gotta go help Sean with his homework
